The GOC (General Operator’s Certificate) is the highest level radio competency within the international GMDSS system. It provides the trainees with skills and knowledge to operate the ship station on a SOLAS vessel engaged in international professional seafaring on all sea areas of the world.
The aim of the course is to deliver to the trainees such theoretical knowledge and practical skills that they are able to conduct radio operations on a ship radio station complying with the requirements of the GMDSS system.
The course encompasses e.g. the following topics:
exercises on distress, safety and routine communication
exercises on GMDSS radio stations and simulators
lectures and exercises on the service and maintenance of ship radio station
